REMINDER: UPDATED- CHILLED WATER & FIRE ALARM OUTAGE - CLSL-A - AUG 17 - 6AM TO 12PM

TO ALL IN CLSL-A:

There will be a SMOKE OUTAGE for the following spaces:  A227, A233, A243 and a CHILLED WATER OUTAGE for the following spaces:

Prashant’s entire A233 lab will have no chilled water for the duration.

JVW lab A227A and A227 including the chiller in the closet across from the north elevator will have no chilled water.

A205 has a small closet in the back with a small chilled water fan coil unit in it fed from the same chilled water line as JVW A227 and A227A labs and will be off.

These are the only areas affected. The JVW labs will hopefully be back on sooner and Josh will be notified as soon as he is back on. This is due to valves needing installed in the basement for Prashant’s line that will now also serve A151. So A233 will be down for the duration (hopefully on sooner) of the outage request.

This outage will take place on FRIDAY, AUGUST 17 from 6:00AM to 12:00PM.  You may notice a slight smoke odor while brazing is being done in these spaces.  These outages are being done to tie in chilled water to the spaces.  Further details of the outage are below:

TODAY'S MAINTENANCE TIP : WHEN TO CALL THE SERVICE OFFICE AND/OR SCS FACILITIES & SAFETY TEAM

To All in SCS:

Not sure who/when to call when you have an EMERGENCY maintenance issue??  The SCS Facilities & Safety Team(and Ghostbusters J) is here to help!

Service Office Calls(217-333-0340)
·         Flooding
·         Overflowing toilets/sinks
·         Elevator Issues
·         Hot/burning smells that are not related to a planned outage
·         Unexpected TOTAL power outage in spaces not related to a planned outage
·         After hours/weekend maintenance issues

*If you call the Service Office, PLEASE send an email and/or call Danielle(info below) so the SCS Facilities & Safety Team knows about it and can follow up on the issue ASAP!*

SCS Facilities & Safety Team Calls
·         Anything called into the Service Office
·         If you place an EMERGENCY work order in Reaction
·         Flooding
·         Major water leaks
·         Hot/burning smells that are not related to a planned outage
·         Unexpected TOTAL power outage in spaces not related to a planned outage
·         Restroom Issues(out of TP, PT, clogged toilet/sink, water on the floor, etc)

If you experience any other NON-EMERGENCY maintenance issues, PLEASE place a work order in Reaction.  Do NOT directly call/email anyone on the SCS Facilities & Safety Team because there could be a delayed response depending on whether the person is readily available to assist you with the issue.  Someone on the team is ALWAYS checking Reaction on a frequent basis so that is the best & quickest way to get your maintenance issue resolved.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.  I’ve also attached the maintenance checkup email with more detailed information regarding maintenance issues. This information can always be found on the SCS Building Outages/Important Notices blog:  www.scsbuildingoutages.blogspot.com.
