Today's Maintenance Tip - Okay Description vs. Excellent Description in Reaction

Today’s Maintenance Tip:  Okay Description vs. Excellent Description in Reaction

When putting a description in Reaction, it is IMPERATIVE to put as much detail in the description as possible!  The trade/shop that is sent out from F & S will know exactly where to go in the lab/office, what repair is needed, and be able to get the repair done quicker.  Here are some examples to assist you:

Okay:  There is a light bulb out that needs changed.
Excellent:  There is a fluorescent ceiling light located in the SW corner of the room that needs changed.  For hoods, there is a light bulb in the hood located in the back NE corner of the room that needs changed.  It is marked with a post it note.

Okay:  The hood sash is broken.
Excellent:  The glass on the hood sash located by the door is cracked and needs repaired.  It is marked with a post it note.

Okay:  The sink is clogged.
Excellent:  The 2nd sink to the left is clogged and not allowing anything to drain out of it.  It is marked with a post it note.

By doing this, it also cuts down on having to go back and forth in email or phone calls to know exactly what needs done.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.  I’ve also attached the maintenance checkup email. This information can always be found on the SCS Building Outages/Important Notices blog:  www.scsbuildingoutages.blogspot.com
