CLSL-A Transformer : UPDATE INCLUDED

UPDATE FROM F & S:

Switching is complete. We energized, de-energized, and then re-energized. This was needed in order to change rotation. The new transformer is now on. We will reach out in the near future to start the process of scheduling the final outage.

To All in CLSL-A:

This message was sent by F & S regarding the new transformer for CLSL-A:

The transformer has been replaced in CLSL“A” building basement electrical room. We would like to energize the transformer Tuesday morning 1/23/18. This is to energize the transformer only. We will not be connecting any load to it yet. This should not affect any electrical power in the building, however, to be safe and side on the extreme case you could experience a ~10V sag for a few seconds, perhaps twice, between 7:30A and 8:30A . This could cause a small brownout with this much of a sag in voltage if the extreme scenario was to occur. Some sensitive laser equipment may need to be shut down, in addition to the NMRs. After the transformer has been energized we can schedule a time to connect the loads and return the system back to normal.

If you feel this may affect any equipment in your labs, we recommend you take the necessary precautions ahead of this event.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know ASAP.
